Emmanuelle Javoy has worked for Symbiotics for 7 years. She held the position of Head of Social Performance and Impact Measurement and Head of Blended Finance and Sustainability. She also oversaw the implementation of the Blended finance mandates, and notably the achievement of their impact goals. 

Prior to joining Symbiotics, Ms. Javoy worked for eleven years in progressively responsible positions for Planet Rating, one of the pre-eminent rating agencies specialized in microfinance, serving as its managing director for six years. She also worked for responsAbility as the team leader of the Financial Institutions Credit Analysis team. Among her other contributions to the field, Ms. Javoy participated in the first meetings of the Social Performance Task Force and in numerous ones thereafter; created Planet Rating’s social rating methodology; contributed to the definition and testing of the Smart Campaign Client Protection Principles and Certification program; trained hundreds of microfinance practitioners and students on the concepts of social performance in microfinance; was part of Microfinance Transparency’s board, worked on Cerise’s SPI4 and helped define the indicators to be used in ALINUS, and co-founded MIMOSA with Daniel Rozas.
