Cerise+SPTF supports financial service providers, social businesses, impact investors, networks, professional associations, regulators, and donors—a wide cross-section of stakeholders from all over the world—with the tools they need to achieve their social and environmental strategies. We pursue this mission through several strategies.
The Client Protection Pathway is the starting point. Stressing “first, do no harm,” the Client Protection Pathway guides financial service providers through best practices to safeguard their low-income clients’ basic interests. Impact investors and donors increasingly require financial service providers to commit to the Client Protection Pathway as a precondition for funding.
The Universal Standards and the related tools and resources help guide impact-driven stakeholders through social and environmental performance management. All of our resources are field-tested and practical. They were developed through intensive collaboration with practitioners, and they are regularly updated for relevance and applicability.
We host active and influential Working Groups, organized along thematic lines or by key stakeholders, providing for peer-to-peer learning and giving a platform to address global issues and develop practical and standard approaches with a collective voice.
We deliver South-South learning exchanges, technical assistance, and targeted grant funding via our Responsible Inclusive Finance Facilities.
We offer affordable advisory and consultancy services for impact-driven clients seeking to solve a particular problem or strengthen a specific area of their social and environmental performance management efforts.
With more than 1,000 audits conducted using the Social Performance Indicators tool, Cerise+SPTF has perhaps the most robust foundation for data analysis about social and environmental performance management in inclusive finance. We mine this anonymized data to see what stories it might tell, and we share what we learn. We help institutions benchmark their social and environmental performance against meaningful comparisons (by geography, institutional type, size, length of time in operation, profile of clients, and so forth) so they can set and pursue their goals.
