Youssef Makrouf​

BOARD MEMBER

Youssef Makrouf is a program manager at IRAM within the team for financing systems and microfinance. Most of his recent professional experiences are as Expert Business Development in the international microfinance network Advans, Territorial Director for Adie, French Microfinance Institution and Country Representative for the French NGO Positive Planet (formerly Planet Finance). Mr. Makrouf has specialized expertise in credit risk management and recovery, credit process, governance and credit team management, development, and monitoring of performance indicators for credit operations. He is also experienced in diagnosis, advice and methodological support for microfinance institutions, evaluation, and training. Mr, Makrouf worked for four years in sub-Saharan Africa on issues of access to financing and financial inclusion, particularly in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. He is a graduate of Sciences-Po Lyon and holds a certification from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in microfinance. He speaks French, English and Spanish.​

Practical Dreamers

Cerise+SPTF are practical dreamers. Since our origins in the late 1990s-early 2000s (when inclusive finance was better known as microfinance), there has been steadily growing interest in social performance: in making sure that vulnerable low-income clients are not exploited, and that products and services help create better lives. Many organizations have published high-level principles and frameworks. Cerise+SPTF translate those aspirations into concrete, practical actions.
