Charlotte Fauquembergue
Charlotte Fauquembergue joined the French Agency for Development (Agence Française de Développement, AFD), the main implementing agency for France’s official development assistance to developing countries, in 2009. With the AFD office in New Caledonia between 2009 and 2011, Ms. Fauquembergue worked for a guarantee fund aimed at covering a part of local banks’ risk on credit lines for small and medium enterprises to support their development and expand financial inclusion. As Task Team leader within the private sector team of the Overseas Department in Paris, Ms. Fauquembergue assessed private sector projects within the financial, sustainable energy and urban development sectors. She was also the focal point for financial inclusion within this department.
Since 2019, Ms. Fauquembergue has been Task Team leader within AFD’s Financial Systems, where she identifies, assess and then monitors the implementation of projects mainly in Rwanda, Uganda and Armenia. Her portfolio includes grants and loans in support of microfinance and other financial institutions, dedicated investment vehicles, and national or regional regulation and supervision bodies. Ms. Fauquembergue is also the focal point for the responsible finance topic within the department. She holds a master’s in finance from EM Lyon School of Management.
