Governance Workshop: Managing Client Protection Across the Investment Lifecycle – A Peer Exchange for Debt and Equity Investors
Room: Blue
Trainer:
This workshop brings together debt and equity investors for a practical, peer-to-peer exchange on how to implement client protection across the investment lifecycle — from due diligence to monitoring and exit. Participants will engage in candid, case-based discussion on topics such as red flags in due diligence, monitoring challenges, escalation and decision-making processes, and the role of boards, covenants, and internal teams.
By exploring what investors actually do in practice (what data they rely on, how they identify and respond to risks, trade-offs, and constraints faced when integrating client protection into investment processes, particularly amid heightened ESG scrutiny and market stress), participants will leave with a clearer sense of what works, what doesn’t, and realistic tools/insights to better translate client protection principles into consistent, effective action. This workshop will also highlight the differences and complementarities
between debt and equity approaches, offering a rare opportunity for cross-learning.
