Sary Valenzuela joined Cerise+SPTF in 2025 and serves the Client Protection Pathway, supporting operations, member engagement, and technical resource development. She has also contributed to research on financial health with RIFF-SEA. Previously, Sary worked with the World Bank’s Agriculture & Food Global Practice, where she focused on food and nutrition security for smallholder farmers and vulnerable agricultural communities, and with the Asian Development Bank on firm formalization in Cambodia. Before transitioning to development practice, she served as a physician in underserved public hospitals and remote island communities in the Philippines, and later led the development of national policy on environmental health, measuring climate risk among vulnerable populations. Sary is a board-certified physician and holds a degree in Medicine from UERM and a Psychology degree from the University of the Philippines. She also has a Master in Global Human Development from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. Sary is based in Washington, DC.
