Join Us in Cairo!
Our global meeting is our biggest in-person gathering and is always a phenomenally energizing and inspirational experience. We hope to see you all there!
This year’s theme — “Placing the Well-Being of the Customer at the Center of the Financial Sector Ecosystem” — reflects the heart of Cerise+SPTF’s new 10-year strategy: building a financial sector that protects, empowers, and supports customers as they navigate evolving challenges.
Co-hosted by the Egyptian Federation for Financing Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises, this four-day event entails:
- June 8 – Trainings (optional)
- June 9-10 – Conference (plenaries and breakout sessions)
- June 11 – Field Visits (optional)
Meeting Location
Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo Hotel
Nile Corniche
Qasr Ad Dobarah, Qasr El Nil
Cairo Governorate 11511
Egypt
After you arrive at The Manila Hotel, check in with our staff at the registration table next to Centennial Hall to receive your name badge and other conference materials. As you enter the hotel lobby, Centennial Hall is immediately to your right down the hall after you go through security.
After you arrive at The Manila Hotel, wait in the lobby for our staff to collect you and lead you to your field visit vehicle (bus or van). Please take note of the departure times! These field visits leave very early in the morning to avoid traffic. You can view the agendas for each field visit here.
❛❛Attending a Cerise+SPTF Annual Meeting means for me going back to the deepest motivation of what drives me to work in the financial inclusion space. It is a refreshing source of inspiration that energizes me and helps me to face the difficulties and disappointments that we inevitably face. The annual meeting is not only unique because of its outstanding content, but also because it gathers highly committed, noble and fundamentally good people. It is not difficult to make friends for life at the Cerise+SPTF meetings.❜❜

Travel FAQs
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate visa for entering Egypt.
Nationals from most countries will need a visa.
- Nationals of these countries may simply apply for an e-Visa at least 7 days in advance (recommended) or obtain a visa at the airport on arrival.
- If your country is not eligible for one of the simpler visa methods above, you must be pre-approved for a visa by an Egyptian embassy or consulate before you travel. Please contact Noura Ramadan at nora.ahmed@msmef-eg.org. She will guide you through the required steps and documents.
We recommend you stay at the Semiramis InterContinental Cairo Hotel (the same hotel that is hosting our meeting). It is situated along the Nile in the heart of historic Cairo with many famous sites nearby.
We have arranged a reduced rate of $180 USD per night for a “Single Standard City View” room. This price includes all taxes and service charges, plus a daily buffet breakfast and wifi.
The deadline to book a room at this reduced rate is April 17, 2026, and the number of rooms available is limited. So act quickly!
To book now, use this link, which automatically applies our group rate. If you have any issues, contact Essam Magdy at GroupCoordinator.Semiramisic@ihg.com. (Note: for those booking a room for two guests, the website will show just king bed options, but you may request two separate beds when you arrive at reception.)
Participants should fly into Cairo International Airport (CAI).
The conference is located approximately 20–25 km (12–15 miles) from the airport, which is about 30–45 minutes by car depending on traffic.
When you arrive at CAI:
- Do not pay anyone offering to speed your way through security. This is a scam.
- Do not use local street taxis. The airport does not have a clearly-marked official taxi stand.
Our local hosts advise that it is best to use either hotel-arranged transportation or Uber.
- Uber from CAI to the conference hotel is reliable and will cost $6-10 USD. We recommend you wait for your Uber inside the terminal to avoid the enthusiastic solicitations of the street taxi drivers. Note: license plates are in Arabic, but you can confirm the Uber car’s make and model in the app, and the driver will confirm your name.
- To arrange transportation from the conference hotel, email Concierge.Semiramisic@ihg.com
at least 24 hours in advance. Basic transportation from your gate to the hotel is $80 USD, and they also offer several options for more VIP treatment.
